There are four basic uses for images that I have shown you in this section of the tutorial. These are...

• As decorations on web pages
• As a clickable link image
• As an image map, which has applications as menus or maps.
• As background images for web pages

These are the main uses for images and should get you started on designing graphics for you web pages. The main thing about images is that they must be combined with other tags to position then where you want on the screen.
